Favourite Thing Friday

as the Zach Brown Band sings, "cold beer on a Friday night, a pair of jeans that fit just right, and the radio ooooonnnnnn".

Last week I waxed on about country music and a good beer - this week, my favorite is a good-fitting pair of jeans.  I recently bought these at our local discount "warehouse" type of clothing store.  They were $19.99.  If I could have found any more in my size, I would have bought as many as they had.  I don't consider myself weirdly shaped, but it is difficult for me to find pants that  fit, especially jeans.

the label says, "rider-fit relaxed" - I think that means "mom jeans"

My husband, son, and youngest daughter - I can pick up any pants in their size and they fit perfectly.  How does that work?  Now, our middle daughter and I are built very similarly - kinda curvy - it is infinitely harder.  For her, I have found that GapKids jeans fit her really well - unfortunately, the adult version doesn't hold any magic for me.

At this point, I have one pair of jeans that fit really well - and then about three other pairs that would fit if I lost five - you know how that goes!  Thank goodness for a great washing machine.

Happy Favourite Things Friday - check out what Mrs P declared as her favourite this week!

  1. I have one pair of jeans...and I only wear them when I work in the yard. LOL I do have a pair of dress denim, made of jeans material but cut like a pair of slacks. I can definitely appreciate your search for a good-fitting pair of jeans. You need to take up sewing! That's one of the main reasons I make a lot of my clothes. Great favourite! Happy FTF! :o)

  2. Oh, I'm with you! The only jeans I've found that fit perfectly without alteration are pricey and sold at Petite Sophisticate. I buy 2 pair and wear them OUT before I buy more. About 2 months ago, I tore both pairs while cleaning out my garage and walking in the woods. I was beside myself b/c I didn't want to spend the $ yet for 2 more pair. The good news, I've gotten over that and finally ordered a couple new pair. I just didn't want to order them until I could get into the next size down. I'm there a little at a time! lol

  3. I totally agree. A good-fitting pair of jeans are worth their weight in...denim? I'm still searching. Ever since mom jeans went out, getting a lower rise pair with the perfect fit seems that much more challenging.

  4. I live in jeans and capri's so this is an FTF that is dear to my heart. I have jeans that fit really well (and that I feel like a total babe in ) and I have jeans that are so so . Nothing is better than a decent pair of comfortable jeans!

  5. Oh Kirsten, it's always been hard for me to buy jeans without doing an alteration. I'm curvy always have been, we call it ass and tits here, which so many women are but the designers don't get it yet.
I'm also short waisted...I'm glad you posted this.

  6. I know exactly what you're talking about! I used to wear Gap stretch boot cut jeans. For years they fit me perfectly. A few years back, they changed the fit of them and now no more.
I picked up a few pairs at various thrift stores and they are now becoming holey messes. I'll have to check into those Lucky jeans. Maybe I'll be Lucky enough to find them at discount! Thanks for sharing.

  7. Wow! Lucky jeans for $19.99; what a bargain! I got some for half price, but that was still too pricey.

  9. I dream of the day that I will fit into jeans again. Need to lose a fair bit of weight to do it but I'm trying.
    Cheers

  10. I CAN NOT believe you can buy a decent pair of jeans for $19.99, now that is a bargain. Here jeans that fit well usually cost a squillion dollars. I have a couple of pairs of jeans I absolutely love and I'm going to wear them until they fall apart as I loathe trying on jeans to find a pair that fits well.

  11. Great fitting jeans is an FTF that hits home. When I was younger button fly Levi's were all the rage, but I was too curvey to look right in those. Lee's have always worked for me (no matter the size, thankfully).

  12. Jeans I think you love them or hate them....depends on the fit ;-) When I find a pair that fit I usually buy two of them. I like the boyfriend jeans as I am a bit curvy too but they don't make them anymore :-( Great FTF!

  13. I wear jeans every minute I'm not in the office. Like you, though, it's hard to find a pair that fit AND are affordable. Great find for you!

    Good FTF post!

  15. Currently I don't have a good fitting pair of jeans and I know what you mean too much Xmas cheer lol. But I'm with you I am too curvy for Jeans but when you find a pair that fit you right one pair is not enough.
